Why did kimball leave reno

All I know is that the cast members do not get any residuals at all. I can say that James Garcia is one of the most popular character in the show. Read a contract before you comment about it. An actor, a writer, or a director, cannot negotiate away their residual rights. Tracy Ullman was notoriolus for withholding residual payments to her show writers. They have taken her to court more than once. Just talked to them, and I was mistaken about the residuals. It is something else and complicated.

Sorry to see them go, but every good series can withstand a cast shake-up every know and then. It keeps the writing from getting stale. Wow the new cast members suck and the show has died. How sad comedy central forced them off the show and then tried to milk another season from what was left. Ihope its an april fools joke they all are on or someone at comedy central should loose thier job. It was a train wreck of a show. Didnt flow, no chemistry and the new characters just suck.. I hate when they try to switch up casts for longer series and then try to make you think it ll be so much better..

Wow, I never thought a show that I loved so much could be ruined so fast. The first episode of Season 6 was awful and I cannot think of any reason how it could get better. The 2 new characters are totally lame and not at all funny. Garcia and Johnson were 2 of the funniest characters on the show and they kill them off? Kimball was funny, too, but the other 2 were funnier. And even Terry, who is normally a complete riot, was just dumb.

And is it just me or did he get really chubby? Not that I care but I thought he was a lot thinner in past episodes. I really used to look forward to watching it. Damn shame. What has Comedy Central done?? This was even a worse and faster Shark Jump than Roseanne. Holy crap. I cannot imagine watching any more of these without Clemmie and Garcia. What the heck were the powers that be smoking when they decided to do this? Garica and Johnson were great and the show does not flow good.

They should have kept Garcia, Kimball, and Clemmy. I used to laugh out loud watching RENO Would have if it was one of the old deputies interacting with him. But seriously folks…this show jumped the shark about three seasons ago when the exec producers decided not to equally feature their cast members. Time to be put to sleep. They killed one of the best shows on cable not to mention a very lucrative DVD series. Doesnt Danny DaVetto get it, if you change the formula…..

In this case its not only different but not at all funny. The old cast had chemistry…. Reno is DOA. Disgrace, what a lame stupid 1st show. They ruined this show. I will no longer watch unless old cast is returned. Comedy central, you suck!! You need to quit paying that idiot jon Stewart and start paying people who are funny.

Way to ruin a series. I do sooo miss the old cast. I really hate the way they make up stories to give to the viewers when the truth of the matter is probably that the executive powers that be are just assholes and lost the original cast because of that fact!! There are too few laugh out loud funny shows on these days, bring um back and make your viewers happy! You could throw 3 of the people on this whack panel to replace kimball clemmy and garcia and not miss a beat. You may or may not be correct.

Depends on how improvised the dialogue was. In any event, the new actors are terrible, and season 6 was the worst season of them all. What a bunch of Dumbasses! What a pity…a great program while it lasted. I agree percent. Once someone introduced me to the show, I went on Ebay the day after trying to find all the seasons to catch up. The original crew had it—in spades. Reno ! Clemmy was my favorite character and the other two were great as well.

The new episodes are not nearly up to the standards of seasons I really doubt that this show will be renewed for another season and that is a shame. The producers should have realized that these changes would be unpopular and people would probably stop watching because of them.

It is a shame to see one of the smartest and funniest shows on tv get so awful so fast. I think anyone who thinks the new cast is horrible is an idiot and does not know comedy. Kimball was just boring and not that funny.

Season 3,4 and 5 all kind of lost the subtle humor of the characters. That guy is an improv genius. I think they lost their integrity a little bit there. Cheap, predictable and generic jokes are what make the Joe the Plumbers, Larry the cable guy and Dane Cook fans of this world happy.

You really think Jon Stewart is an idiot Johnny? What a bunch of whiny little babies. Stick to drinking Budweiser, watching football and laughing at Two and a Half Men. State Alumni? Obama wow posters 21 and 22 you guess must be the most boting people on earth..

Stewart is funny but has been getting alittle political hevay last 2 years would be better if he backed off that stuff more and did what he used to do…I have yet to see one line from the new cast members to draw a laugh. Ted and I think your an idiot you should not have to think about something for it to be comedy. It should be instant and spontaneous as Reno was. If you have to sit analyze and break it down to get a laugh why not just shove the stick further up your ass and save the time??

And poster 22 most be a Reno writer as he thinks he is better then the working class people with that typical democrate I am better then everyone now give me stuff for me and screw everyone else attitude. Thanks for voting for Obama and helping destroy america with your uneducated vote. I could not even finish watching the episode, because it was so poorly written and acted. Nothing made me laugh. It only created disdain for a show that used to make me shed tears for laughter.

Extremely disappointing is all I can add to the other comments that degrade the show that once upon a time was worth watching. Also, I am assuming that Ted must be one of the writers.

Nobody could possible consider this crap to be funny or witty unless he had a personal interest in the crap. Now, Ted, go wipe yourself. So, what's the real reason Reno ! Unsurprisingly, the move was based more on behind-the-scenes decision-making than it was on in-universe continuity. The rationale for comes straight from Lieutenant Jim Dangle himself — Reno ! During an interview with TV Insider , Lennon discussed what led to the reunion of the complete cast, how their chemistry endured all of the years away, and the benefits that came with this new season of Reno !

As Lennon himself expressed, "Being in a comedy group is a lot like being in a band. More often than not, viewers are tuning in to see the entire cast, not fragments of it — a lesson that Lennon now understands through the power of hindsight. It was just a crazy, emotional time where we made a really bad decision," said Lennon, admitting the misstep he and his fellow Reno ! While it certainly made for interesting television in the short term, it wasn't a great decision to stand by into the future — even just in season 6 of Reno !

They couldn't have known at the time that a revival was in the cards ten years later, but missing a trio of key Reno Sheriff's Department members would have hurt the reboot tremendously. The Reno ! T hose who left the show on season 5 — Carlos Alazraqui, Mary Birdsong, and Wendi McLendon-Covey — may have had an especially difficult time getting back into the groove of things; after all, taking ten years off from anything would prove challenging for a person to engage with at the same level they once had.

However, Lennon reassured TV Insider that there weren't any serious cobwebs to shake off before shooting the Reno ! As Lennon described it, it's as if embodying the characters came second nature to everyone.

Oh, we told you he was dead; that was a joke. We did like, a full in-character drug awareness and prevention seminar as us, and we fixed the Garcia-being-dead thing, and it was really really fun. It was a mistake. But certainly, I regret it in hindsight. I have some favorite episodes. Brian Phelps from Mark and Brian did an episode where he played Gigg LeCarp, who was a reverend who came back to do a show from our jail. It was just crazy. Anytime you got to do a scene with Jim Rash was really wonderful.

He just talked really funny. It became like a two-episode thing just because he was so weird and funny. He became our super villain. Zach Galifianakis played a character named Frisbee. He lived in a school bus. He was basically like a David Koresh type character who had a little compound and some child brides, and we did a full scene with him where we pulled up to his weird bus with his child brides. And he just shakes his head no, in the most suspicious way ever, and we walk back to the car.

But no one ever said anything. It was just one of those great little moments. That was one of my favorite things. Those were always great moments. She would always put up a really great fight to not get in a police car. George Lopez as….

After season 2, the very first day of every single shoot every season was always Big Mike because we knew we would get something. We knew that it would kind of warm us all up and remind us what the show was.

He had been bragging about his beautiful, super hot girlfriend. She was waiting in, like, a fancy car down the street with headphones on, just listening to what Terry was saying about her, including what her name was.

She had never heard any of the stuff about the character, so she was just waiting in a car around the corner with headphones on so that she could drive into the scene and then corroborate everything he was saying. We really had a lot of exactly who you would want on the show. But we got almost everybody. Kenny Rogers wrote a blurb in TV Guide.

He had such a good time, and he had such a great sense of humor about himself. Kerri dressed up as like the decoy Kenny Rogers.
