I've read the book twice now and it does seem a bit out of place. Not much I think she is setting herself up for more books I love Jacob black. I do too I wasn't a fan before this book but now I am. Maybe it was a little bit mangled or something? I understand a closed coffin viewing. There are occations where it is nessary or just plain wanted, and we do now a days lock the coffin before it is entured but that is to keep robbers from getting in.
Some hidden secret? Is his mother even really in there? How old was he when his mother died and did he see her body in the coffin for himself before it was shut? Aug 08, AM. I think he said it because what if Charlie wanted Bella's coffin nailed shut? Then how would she get out? And I know why someone would want a coffin nailed shut, people dig up bodies all the time for research or looking for valuables. Having it nailed shut would just prevent that. And also the people looking for valuables and stuff don't always put the bodies back nicely, like actually being put in the coffin would be nice treatment.
Jacob was being dramatic I think Mostly they're saying no one can see this, they would know instantly something worse went on than the story they gave. Plus, Billy was in the accident I thought So he was witness to her death then. Ryan, you are right, that is kind of far fetched. In my opinion, you are making something big out of nothing. I agree with Cassidy. I used to like Edward until he left bella but now i love jacob hes so hot in both ways.
Totally agree Morgan, but I like Edward wayyy better than Jacob. I mean Jake's nice and all but he doesn't compare to Edward in my eyes. I really don't see why Jacobs so "Lovable" no offense. Well, that makes sense then but I didn't get mad at Edward when he left, I just got bored of Jacob.
She will do what it takes to ensure her children have what they need. She understood what the blessing was worth. When Isaac was old, his eyes were so dim that he could not tell his sons apart by sight, he prepared to bless the elder son — Esau. Rebekah hatched a plot so that Jacob would receive the blessing. Rebekah responded to a scheme by her husband to bless Esau in secret. God had already told the couple that the blessing would go to Jacob.
The furs would fool his hands. Both parents, and their sons, would have benefited if Rebekah and Isaac formed a unified front. While many children are raised by supportive, loving single parents, if there are two parents in the home, they must work together in order to supply children with a sense of security, unity, and moral direction. One must wonder how this family became so disconnected. They had no confidence to communicate openly and honestly with one another. They were not unified.
Charles Spurgeon points out that Rebekah and Isaac lacked confidence in God, in doing the right thing, or in their respective spouses. Yet, the father and husband , should have been the spiritual leader of the family. Isaac avoided conflict by avoiding honest conversation, so Rebekah had made a habit of eavesdropping.
Only God can truly bestow the blessing. The fracture in this family did not happen in a vacuum — it had been coming for some time. Here are some mistakes Rebekah made:. Currently, Jacob has no idea that Emma willingly slept with Joe. Since then Jacob now acts much more aggressive and serious, going as far as to throw Claire to the ground stating that he's been ordered to put her in her place for Joe less she refuse. She says if she wants to see Joey, she'll have to "make an effort".
She does so as she has dinner with Joe that night. As she tries to talk with him about his life and why he's doing this, he refuses to listen even after how he has a golden life. Jacob uses her as leverage to force Ryan to let Joe go in the basement.
Later at night, Jacob watches the news as he's on the TV about his choices in life leading him to call his father. His father begs him to tell him where he is, but Jacob hangs up and starts crying instead. The next morning, he informs Joe about Ryan on the news about the deal he'll give one of Joe's followers if they turn themselves in. Joe tries to persuade them that they aren't in trouble and Ryan is desperate, but Jacob sees more to that.
After Roderick kidnaps Joey, Jacob offers to find him with two others and stay outside Ryan's work place. They follow them to Roderick's base and kill him. After Ethan and Michael are killed, Jacob finds Joey and tells him to be quiet and tries to take him back to Joe. As they run, Joey begs him to stop stating his mom says he's one of the bad guys, but he says that's crazy. Ryan keeps him behind a shed and Jacob yells he has to take him back to Joe, but Ryan tells him Joe doesn't care about him or if he dies, causing Jacob to question everything he's doing.
Ryan continues to persuade him to let Joey go which, with tears in his eyes, and Joey tearfully begging also, Jacob finally does the right thing and lets Joey go, but escapes in the process. At home, he is greeted by Emma, to which he begins to realize they are all going to die soon. The Following Wiki Explore. Timeline Pre-Escape Post-Escape. Cast Starring Recurring.
